Jacob Holm Announces Maria Curran as Candler Site Director, First Woman Site Director in U.S. Company History

Basel, Switzerland, August 20, 2020  Maria Curran has been a valuable member of the Jacob Holm team for the last six years, beginning as Process Engineering Manager and steadily increasing her responsibilities to Quality Director, Quality and Process Engineering Director, Interim Site Director and finally Site Director as of April 2020. Curran earned her BE in Food Process Engineering from University College Cork. She has previously worked in textile manufacturing in Ireland and the U.S. at Georgia-Pacific and Buckeye with roles in both Quality and Process Engineering.

Already in her tenure as Site Director, Curran has achieved the largest combined production volume for the Candler site in company history. Jacob Holm is fortunate to have Curran in this role for both her technical and leadership expertise. Since Jacob Holm strives towards diversity and equity both with our suppliers and within our company and in company history, we are also pleased to note that Curran is the first woman site director in our U.S. company history and the only woman manufacturing site director currently active in the Asheville area. “Maria worked three months as interim site director, as I became more and more excited about having her in this role. She is the perfect fit,” says Suman Raha, COO, Jacob Holm Industries (JHI). Curran is a powerhouse and brings with her years of experience, dedication, and leadership qualities that will bring continued success to the Candler manufacturing site.
