- 1794 At the age of 24, Jacob Holm started a grocery store in Copenhagen
- 1800s Diversification of business by venturing into shipping and ship fittings, including rope manufacturing
- 1950s Production start of synthetic polypropylene fibers
- 1979 Poul M. Mikkelsen acquired a majority of Jacob Holm
- 1990s Construction of first nonwoven production site in France
- 1990s Divestment of fiber business and sole business focus on developing new, value-added spunlaced applications
- 2000s Construction of new spunlace production site in the USA
- 2014 Acquisition of Sontara® assets from DuPont™ (2 production sites in USA and Spain)
- 2015 Completion of construction of additional production line in the USA
